The Importance of Coffee Hours in Orthodox Churches

The coffee hour in terms of a modern church is absolutely essential. You really need to have one or two hours after a liturgy or after a service for people to be together, because we're not in a village anymore. There's something different when you do it in a community, which is what a church is supposed to be. And then when people have children, they want an experience of the world that is not only spiritually nourishing, but that nourishes their souls and their relationship with other people.
