The Prime Minister's Becoming Addict to Easy Money
The magic money tree was always said to be not around, and hence we went through years of austerity. I think on balance, it's more likely that the free fiscal approach that we've seen in the last two years will carry forward,. particularly with the government that we have. i think when governments can spend freely, as they've had to do, they've had no choice during the covid crisis. Perhaps we've been mistaken in thinking that the public sector has to manage its accounts like a family would do.
