How Did You Become an Auctioneer?
I was in the stereo business and I saw some guys doing live auctions. So I said, wow, this is a really powerful tool to sell a lot of merchandise very quick. When you're an auctioneer, you're making $500 a day or $1,000 a day back then. And so I learned the business. It was great fun. Most of them were literally cowboys that were going to be cattle auctioneers or livestock auctioneers. We went over there with basically nothing; we called every single real estate auctioneer in the con.
