The biggest thing to help hold that retention is are you telling or storing your content again one of the most effective ways to hold someone's retention in a video is telling a story. i did experiment this on my channel one time too just to test out storytelling of i made a video and then I would tell three stories throughout that video into different spots every single time i told a video the graph flattened out which showed me proof right there okay yes this does work. On a larger scale if you could do that for your entire video that's one step closer to getting someone to make it to the end of your video and satisfying that viewer from youtube's perspective.
