The Future of Artificial Intelligence

Big tech companies all want in on the action whether it's Microsoft's GPT-4, Google's Lambda or Metas new Lama 2 which was announced this week. The technology has come on leaps and bounds recently but it is not without its flaws. When these systems don't know something they can hallucinate or make up an answer as Google found out to their cost and embarrassment at a press launch recently. What mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war.
