The Belt and Road Initiative Seeks to Formalize What China Was Actually Doing in Many of the Global South

The Belt and Road Initiative, I think it was called One Belt, One Road at that time. Could you tell us a little about what is this project and what does it seek to accomplish? So what Xi Jinping has done is to formalize in words what China was actually doing in many of the global South even before this. What happened is around 2008 when the great great financial crisis hit much of the developed economy in the West.
