The Tempe First People's Opposition to the Proposed Arena
The site of the proposed arena is an abandoned landfill. The opposition went on the offensive on that and said that by building another ice rink, it was going to be horrible for the region. All three ballot measures lost by a margin of 3,000 votes each. It seems like it's less of an issue with quantity and more of an issues with just properly using it and allocating it to the right people.
