The Paradox of Democracy
If you conceive of campaign finance as a way that citizens can have input into the democratic process, then it incentivizes those who are already advantaged to rush in. That's especially problematic if the new venues and sites for democratic participation are also supposed to be or reflect sort of an enrichment of influence. And so the paradoxical nature of this is that if we close off that form of participation or that venue of participation, that would actually improve democracy, that wouldactually improve democratic equality.
