Christianity had long been an noxious force in Korean history as we saw last time. Many pastors were imprisoned in the late 1940s including Reverend Sun Myung Moon, who would go on to form the worldwide cult known as the Moonies. As land reform and redistribution got underway, there was also a tightening of the ship of state. There was a general impetus to eliminate the power and prestige of the class enemy.
