Maryland passed a new law that allows the state to move to vacate any conviction on the basis of newly discovered evidence. It sucks that our legal system needed that bill to be passed, but i'm happy it's being put into practice. I don't want a handful of convicted criminals to be freed just because they sound good on a podcast. But by that same token, you wouldn't be like, well, that doesn't mean we shouldn't free the ones that do get this attention and end up being innocent.
