The Importance of Critical Thinking and Science Literacy in Medical Education

Sally Kohn: What do you think are some of the most important aspects of critical thinking and science literacy for medical providers to understand and practice? She says evidence-based medicine is a relatively recent occurrence by that I mean in the past four or five decades, whereas previously it was authority-based because there just wasn't that much good data. Kohn: You have to be very careful how you weigh your personal micro environment versus broad statistical data. Don't discount a bizarre claim just because it sounds weird. It may simply be a misinterpretation from a medical point of view.
