The Importance of Sacrifice in Northern Tradition

The main point of interest there would probably be that there's a woman leading the sacrifice. Maybe women had an active role in rights and rituals. And it may be that the cessation of sacrifice also removed a source of political power for Northern women. Some details in Aslong of Ice and Fire are particularly hard to notice. Discovering new information is especially fun and adds to our enjoyment, but the story still functions really well even to the casual fan who fails to notice huge numbers of details.
