"We preserved this right to the end, which was, mother searching for long lost son," she said. "It's a really, really powerful and poignant way to tell the story." The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh, who also helmed both Philomena and This Is Life. In interviews he talks about how he likes to basically just find a great script but won't necessarily spend a lot of time developing it himself.
