The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream saying arise and take the young child and his mother and flee into Egypt. He's told just go to Egypt until I bring the word. This could last a long time Joseph has no idea. The holy family centers on Jesus and that everybody's just connected through him. But notice this also, they are to go to Egypt and not follow the wise men back east to possibly to Persia but go to Egypt because hasn't there been some other Joseph that was famous for having dreams that ended up bringing his family to Egypt so they could survive the death that would have come through the famine.
