The Importance of Orthodoxy
In Orthodoxy, the laity have always had a keen appetite for recognizing holiness. There's no centralized dogmatic authority which tells everybody what they have to think about every issue. The tradition in the Orthodox church is that firstly, nobody wants there to be another ecumenical council because they don't think any of the leaders are holy enough.
