The Challenges of Distributed Profiling
There is just a matter of scale and thrift. As you start collecting data from many machines, you need to be very thrifty in how much of that data you send out. Challenge for the large distributed environment is really one of scale and very, very thrifty engineering on the data prosessing side. The thing as once developd as see the benefits of having a distributed profile,. It's a bit like i mentioned reversible debugging as being a game changer for a lot of reverse engineering. And having distributed whole system profiling across every thing is one of these moments where, after using it for a while, you can't really imagine going back to not having it.
