The Importance of Neuromantic
The Shockwave Rider, which I read in 1975, completely rewired my head. It was the kind of proto cyberpunk book about a young guy who's a computer whiz and makes surviving in a police state possible by kind of hacking the system. For that blew my mind. And then later on William Gibson's books where he introduced the concept of cyberspace and having your deck and having a direct interface to the internet or the matrix as it was called in this book. There won't be any films ever made of Neuromantic because The Matrix kind of scooped in on a lot of those ideas but they were really mind blowing books.
