The Apocalypse in Russia

I'm just wondering whether there is also some sort of subtle tonal shift here that is, maybe highlight something about the way the dynamics within Russia have changed over the last year or so. Even with people who oppose the war, people I talk to in Russia will say, you know, we can't lose because if we lose, my life is over and that kind of thinking gets people to a very, very dark place. They still see it as if they win, then Russia ceases to exist, Russia will be destroyed,. Russian culture will be wiped out from the face of the earth.
