Introduction

The number of asylum seekers living in state provided accommodation has more than doubled. In the past year, there are about 15 thousand people seeking asylum staying in direct provision centres and emergency accommodation. With no solution to this accommodation crisis on the horizon, there is little hope that the government's target of ending direct provision by 20 24 will be met.
