The First Tri-Nation Series - I'd Come Back and Coach for the Blues
After winning the Super Rugby championship in 2003, I got a phone call at Northampton from Ted to see if I'd come back and coach for them. So initially after that a week, I turned them down because we were in a traditional rugby club. But I knew the way I'd finished in 2001, I knew that, so I had to come back, had to comeback for myself. We wanted to get rid of the single captain leadership model which we felt was outdated. More responsibility among some of these great players that we had in the team,. more responsibility, more leadership and more ownership.
