Nuclear Fuel Is Just a Bundle of Urea Pellets
Nuclear fuel is just a bunch of little uranium pellets about the size of the tip of your pinky stacked up into a long rod. And so currently what we do in the US is let that cool in cooling ponds, so big pools of water. In other countries like Japan and France and Russia, they actually recycle their waste to create new fuel. The Netherlands have turned their central waste facility into a museum that's open to the public.
