Kumari Kannam and the Indian Ocean

The question of Kumari Kannam has been around for quite some time and apparently in certain texts, Tamil texts it is written that there used to be a much larger area that was inhabited by people in ancient times. The claim is that there was a massive enormous continent south of the southern part of India in the Indian Ocean that was called Kumari KANNam. There is no evidence of this but we have very detailed maps of the bottom of the Indian Ocean which show tectonic movement from Africa into Eurasia about 50-40 million years ago.
