Senate Bill 179: A New Boards of Directors Act in California
There's a serious question there as to whether the state government should be meddling in the affairs of corporations like that. But there's a larger problem here, which is this law directly conflicts with another law that California has recently passed. This actually allows California citizens to change the gender that's listed on their birth certificate. So in effect, if you're determined to be male on your birth certificate, it allows you by acclimation to declare that you're now female and vice versa. And under California law, you can now obtain legal documentation to verify this.
