The Bell Island Boom was a massive explosion heard over 60 kilometers away. People reported exploding TV sets, blue flames shooting from electrical outlets, and a strange beam of light coming from the sky. Officials in the area had all sorts of explanations, each with their own flaws and shortcomings.
