Idioms to Describe Types of Conversations
Sometimes when I teach English I start to talk up a storm because I get very excited about what I'm teaching but sometimes I need to slow down so that English learners can understand me. Have you ever met someone that can talk until they are blue in the face? This means they can talk like they don't have to breathe. Another really annoying type of conversation is when you feel like you're talking to a wall. If it's not appropriate to talk about work at that moment you can tell someone to stop talking shop.
