She hosted state dinners that were evenings of anything from the opera to the ballet to jazz musicians. If it was a dinner, it was done by a French chef that she hired. There used to be long banquet tables and now there are more intimate eight to 10 person rounds. So she changed the personality of the White House as well as its appearance.
