Applying Mindfulness to Unskilful Patterns of Thought

The repetition of certain thoughts and emotions are actually strengthening or deepening those neural pathways in the brain. And it becomes easier then to have that same pattern of thoughts and emotions arise again. Do we really want to pay careful attention to how we incline our mind what are we inclining our minds towards? The buddha makes an interesting distinction ouet, yet it's important to see where we're inclining or mind what's skilful, what's unskilful.
