Most physicists are quite rationalist and nomological would be in fact most physicists although maybe not all physicists but many physicists. Albert Einstein obviously a famous physicist he was rationalist in that basically his entire career was spent essentially doing maths. He came out with a bunch of equations by using his imagination and crunching all the maths together in the correct way which revolutionized science.
