One of the things that's strikingly different about shakespeare's sonits is that he doesn't really pick up, uh, what almost all pre his predecessors do. They don't suggest that this complex and entrapped kind of panic rooms are a place of transendance. I'm always struck by the fact that, you know, as a piece of literature, utterly admirable, but none the less, it doesn't make you feel warmer towards this author in any way whatsoever. We take for granted that there's no trace of sh Shakespeare in his plays. He, he, he disappears from them. He is other people all the time.
