The Doctrine of Divine Simplicity

The doctrine of divine simplicity is a very strong doctrine, i typically encounter people not excepting how strong it is. So the claim from augustine is that whatever is intrinsic to god, or whatever is in god, is identical to god. Now there's a further claim though, which is that god, the simple god, does not have any potential whatsoever. Instead, god is pure actuality. And so according to eastern theologians like john philopinus and john asythopolus, there is only identity, sameness.
