Colin Powell: A Hero of the Deep State
Colin Powell's gravitas was used to sell the Iraq war, but it almost seems like he knows he was sold. I think what he did there at the UN was so egregious and he knew the stuff was false that he had to fall on his sword. But if you look back in his career during around Contra, he was the principal military advisor to the Secretary of Defense, Cap Weinberger. My own private theory, I can't prove it, is he was a very useful source for Bob Woodward.
