The Japanese Colonial Period in Taiwan

A judicial system was set up there were courts and tribunals and justice was very harsh if you ended up on the wrong side of the law. The warlordism that had plagued the Taiwan countryside was essentially stamped out. Japanese agricultural policies on Taiwan turned the island into a major food supplier for their home market.
