How to Measure Radioactivity in the Laboratory

In the early days we used to use Curis as the measure of radioactivity then it swapped to Becharels. And in fact there was a saying and I'm not sure that this will be able to go out but we referred them as buggeralls because they really were such a small amount of radiation compared with the Curis that we've been used to working in. But when you actually translate that into what it means in terms of dose to a given tissue and is the dose to the tissue that's going to govern the effect they're going to have in health, then you actually get around to tiny, tiny doses of radiation which are very, very small amounts of radiation.
