The Chalcedonian Formula for Christological Speculation

Chalcedonian formula doesn't seek to explain the incarnation, but what it does do is set up channel markers. For legitimate Christological speculation, any theory of Christ's person must be one in which the distinctness of the two natures is preserved and both meet in one person. So long as you do not confuse the natures on the one hand or divide the persons on the other, you can navigate safely within the waters of Christological speculation. I think it admirably fulfilled the purpose for which it was drawn up.
