Four billion years ago, mars was a warm place with oceans and rivers. The leading theory for how it went away is solar wind that thes like the mars's magnetic field shut down. A new study based on data from the mars express spacecraft says this isn't true. It would account for less than one % of the surface pressure that has been lost over the last four billion years.
