Soviet Policy in Eastern Europe
The soviets weren't pushing for socialism in eastern europe. They favored strategically neutral coalition governments representing different political parties and social classes. The western powers made it clear from the offset that they didn't except that system of people's democracy. So we have this effort by the soviets, again, a non revolutionary, non aggressive foreign policy. That's like what's happening with puton right now - where there's an attempt to let this area be used as staging ground for fashism. We're not going to let us endlessly become a staging ground for nuclear arsenal.
