The most similar case in the past was the Google Books case about 10, 15 years ago. But I think there's a big difference in that Google is not trying to make new books. Whereas these generative AI technologies are creating new images that potentially compete directly with existing images. It's not clear, legally speaking, if a style per se is copyrightable.
