Apple Keyboard for the Eyepad

i'm still really confused about why the globe key doesn't let you control brightness and media am and volume, because apples keyboard for the eyepad doesn't ship with a function row. I feel like behind the scenes, apple knows where it's going with this. Now, it's not all there yet at all, but it feels like it's part of a plan to go somewhere else.
