i think it's easier to me to think of things that feel somewhat like newor exciting ideas, when i'm open to this whole category like speculative and weird stories. I mean, i definitely read realist fiction too, and really love it, but i think the premises that really excite me are ones that have some kind of non realistic element to them. The story is about a guy who's going home to his boy friend's family's house for a for thanksgiving. And ken of meeting the family for the first time, and his boy friend, reuben, warns him that they have this tradition for thanks Thanksgiving called the turkey rumble.
