The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Most often, people will not surprise you as the first bad thing that person has done before. I've tried to do a better job lately of collecting the information for my team and then making a decision quickly rather than sitting on it and being swayed. It's still a daily struggle for me to say no to opportunities.
