The Battle of Abritus

Theseus was so eager to engage the goths, that he basically ceded the decision of where the battle would take place to caneva. Caneva arranged his men in three lines and strategically positioning the third line just behind some marshy swamp land. The romans pursued the fleeing barbarians with reckless abandon sure that victory was just within their grasp. A fierce combat followed, but the turain was too much for the romans to overcome,. And the battle turned into a slaughter theseus himself disappeared in the fighting, and his body never recovered from the swamp.
