The key thing here is that she reveals things that we didn't know about the Lucinda Don Fernando story. So Cardino left after like witnessing the marriage and didn't get the rest of the story. She had both a knife and a like suicide note on her if this marriage actually happened, she was going to kill herself because she didn't want to be with Don Fernando. And so now Cardino is like, okay, Dottie, I'm going to make sure he marries you.
