The Importance of Pre-Vaccination Screening for Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever
In people who have been exposed to at least one strain, the vaccine is very protective and doesn't increase your risk of severe dengue. There's a lot of research going on in genetically modifying mosquitoes to no longer be able to transmit dengue virus. One of the main strategies that people are using is a bacteria called Wolbachia. And then we'll end this one on a happy note. It's not all doom and gloom and hundreds of thousands of people dying every year. It's just hundreds of millions of people getting infected with Dengue. That's it.
