The Viability of a Universal Basic Income

A universal basic income is a financial support system that gives money to everybody in an economy with very few exceptions. Normal u b i proposals don't include payments for people under the age of 18 or people who are not citizens of the country making the payment. Outside of that, everybody gets it, and everybody gets the same amount. In total, the us spends about half a trillion dollars a year on what you would typically think of as welfare,. between the federal and state governments.
