The Pros and Cons of Naming a Squad Later

England named their squad on Monday, so from Monday they'll only be using players. Wales are naming it on the 21st of August. Naming a squad later means you can try different things and perhaps keep that competitive element in squad. What would you prefer as a player? I guess I've always thought of having a few games where you're not sure if you're going to go to the World Cup or not.
