The Harms of Design Interventions

The author of a new book on how designers deal with harm. How do you acknowledge it as a designer and how do you go about addressing it? I think maybe the first thing to realize is that it's quite natural, every system creates a sort of unintended consequence. The harms aren't usually something that users identify in the course of research. They for two reasons one is they accrue to society on a broader level not necessarily to individuals.
