CHAPTER

Introduction

This week I interview Kirsten Heineker, a partner at McKinsey and the lead of the Centre for Future Mobility within McKinsey based in Germany. We discuss the role and scope of the centre and the potential impact of a vehicle class they call minimability or slightly larger micromobility on the transport landscape. The market in Germany has been enabled by quite unique benefits and tax exemptions for employer provided bikes so it was really interesting to explore this with him. And we also went into the challenges faced by many mobility startups like Microleno, Nimbus, Litt Motors and City transformer - all favourites of mine.
