The Ethics of Consent in Ancient Genome Sequencing
The problem of consent is a really tricky one when we're looking at ancient genomics. We already have thousands of ancient genomes from people who lived, particularly in the deep past and more recent historical periods. And so there's this persistent question of with living people you need to ask consent to sequence their genome and use the information. Those sorts of ethics apply to the dead.
