Liberal politics is defined by certain limits that are maintained. These can be institutional in the form of constitutions and representative government. But there are also ethical restraints, or limits that liberalism tends to emphasize. And i wonder why lessness is such an important problem for liberalism. Well, i think it's an important problem first of all, because it simply is a problem. It simply is a very powerful human impulse which licenses, or which encourages, tremendously destructive action.
