The idea of the primacy of Christ is a nice introduction to Skotus that helps people appreciate him. He understands God according to the Franciscans as goodness and love itself. It has a certain priority of place in the Franciscan order. The hypostatic union is the closest possible union of creature in creator. There is no more possible, closer union than that.
